Have you heard about the new Pneumonia Vaccine?

Prevnar 13 has been given to kids for over a decade and has worked great for prevention of disease from common pneumonia bacteria.  It is now indicated for everyone over 65 years old.  If you have already had your Pneumovax, have no fear!  You can have the Prevnar 13 six-twelve months after the Pneumovax. The CDC wants everyone to have both kinds of pneumonia vaccine.   Adults over age 50 with immune system lowering diseases or lung disease are also eligible.  Pneumococcal pneumonia can put you in the hospital so please,  come on in for your New pneumonia vaccine Prevnar 13!  Take care and happy spring!
