Dr. Aniesa Slack is a family medicine physician with obstetrics who brings energy, heart, and deep purpose to everything she does. Known for her warmth and vibrant presence, she is passionate about caring for the whole family—supporting patients through every stage of life, from pregnancy and newborn care to adulthood and end-of-life care. Dr. Slack found her true professional home in full-spectrum family medicine with obstetrics (FMOB), where she can do what she loves most: care for patients across generations and be present for some of life’s most meaningful moments. She creates relationships grounded in mutual respect and collaborates with patients and their entire healthcare team using a holistic, evidence-based approach.
She delivers babies and cares for newborns at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where she is a strong advocate for high-quality, compassionate obstetric care. Her approach is deeply relational—she listens closely, meets patients where they are, and partners with them to create personalized care plans that reflect their values and goals. As both a physician and a mother of three, she is passionate about delivering patient-centered care that honors autonomy, builds trust, and supports families in feeling informed, empowered, and truly cared for. Dr. Slack is board certified in Family Medicine and completed her medical training at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and the University of Missouri–Kansas City. She serves as faculty at UMKC School of Medicine, where she brings the same energy and dedication to mentoring the next generation of physicians. She is also a fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ patients and communities, working to create more inclusive, affirming healthcare spaces. Outside of medicine, Dr. Slack and her husband, AJ, cherish every second adventuring with their three young boys, pouring their hearts into raising kind, curious, and compassionate humans.
